At the beginning of the class, we
watched a Ted Talk. The name of the video is "How to triple your
memory". First, the audience memorized 10 words and then they wrote the
words in order. The words were:
1. Beard
2. Object
3. Jacket
4. Secret
5. Edge
6. Nothing
7. Date
8. Band
9. Punch
10. Gas
After that, the speaker told the audience about his childhood. When he
was a teenager he didn't want to learn at a school. But, he worked as a bagger
and he discovered that he didn't hate learn, it was the way that he did
it.
Now, he is a psychologist and he help people to discover what their
best way to memorize is. So he talked about 3 steps. The first one was 1.
Check, but I didn’t understand too much what check it means. The second one was
2. Experience, we need to be open to different possibilities to learn. The last
one was 3. Experiment, apply the way that we learned in others situations.
He said that all of us can memorize
a lot of information, but we need to find the best way to do it.
To prove it, he told the audience a
story using bizarre images. The people memorized the story so easily and the
story had the names of the last 10 presidents of United Stated, and people
memorized them.
We can find our best way to
memorize too.
After to watched the video, we talked
in groups about two questions:
1.
Have you ever lost and / or found
something valuable?
2.
Have you ever been in a dangerous situation?
Nazareth told of us how she lost
the credit card of her father. Paola lost her mother’s cellphone and one time I
lost the keys of my motorcycle.
After that, we worked in the blue
book.
