The topic of today was "Be going to", "Will" and Modals for necessity and suggestion. At the beginning of the class, we read the summary about the book A Walk to Remember. I had to read almost the entire chapter to remember and write my summary. I liked to listen Johnn's summary because all of us had our summaries written in paper but Jhonn didn't have any sketch, he just talked about the book.
After that, we worked in the blue book. We completed the units five and six of the book. We began reading the section Grammar Focus to understand how to use the expression Be going to and the word Will. We learned that we have to use Be going to for plans you have decided on, and Will for possible plans. The structure to use them is very easy. Then, we read about modals for necessity and suggestion. We could use words like Must, Need to, Have to and Don't have to to describing necessity and words like Had better, Ought to, Should and Shouldn't to giving suggestions. I finally understood how to use the word Must to create sentences.
We read the Grammar Focus of the unit 6. We saw again a few of two word verbs and how to use it with modals and the expression Would you mind...?
Then, we began to complete the exercises of the units, we worked in pairs and talked about the activities we like to do on vacation and common complaints of families with teenagers. We read some texts and answered questions about them and listened some conversations too.
The class
was interesting but I am anxious to see the topics that I have never seen. I
learn a few new things, like how I can use Must . But I want to learn more and
practice a lot.
